‘Tis the season! The holidays are here and so are the treats, late night drinks and the endless number of reasons to skip the gym. How can anyone be expected to stay fit during such a tempting season? Enter this week’s featured partner, Peloton.
Equipped with live-streaming spin classes from some of the world’s best instructors, the state-of-the-art Peloton bike is revolutionizing in-home fitness and providing fitness lovers everywhere one less reason to skip that much needed holiday workout.
Recently we sat down with Ryan Engel, Peloton’s Director of Business Development, to discuss what makes Peloton so unique and their decision to partner with Westfield Mall Retail on 2 stores- Westfield Century City and Westfield Garden State Plaza. Let’s see what he had to say:
Tell me a bit about Peloton – where did this idea come from?
Peloton is looking to disrupt the in-home fitness equipment market by creating a state-of-the-art indoor cycling bike at the merger of high design and modern technology.
With Peloton also having an online retail option why is having a physical presence, such as your stores at Westfield Garden State Plaza and Westfield Century City, important to your brand?
In addition to the look of the bike, the feel is what makes a Peloton bike extremely unique. The bike is equipped with a rubber belt drive which renders the ride silent. The bike itself is an extremely experiential product. Customers need to test ride this product before purchasing. Our retail space functions as a showroom for our product allowing our customers to envision the bike in a living room setting.
The Peloton bike is very sleek and modern in its design. How were you able to echo this design mantra in your Westfield space?
We wanted our Garden State Plaza location to reflect the look and feel of our flagship studio. The store has minimal decoration with the end goal of really showcasing the bike. Clean white washed space with our signature pine, coupled with a small Peloton living room.
